Maysa left Brazil for Europe circa 1962... since then the Brazilian musical scene changed dramatically with the consolidation of local rock and the so-called MPB (Brazilian Popular Music originated in samba, choro, Portuguese fado etc. Maysa must have been really surprised when she noticed the world belonged to a different age bracket.

Maysa shed 64 kg now weighing 58 kg just like when she was a single woman. While in Estoril, Portugal, Maysa met Miguel Azanza, a Belgian man from a Spanish extraction. They married and went to live in Salamanca, an exclusive area of Madrid. Maysa's 10 year son Jayme was sent to a boarding school in Spain too.

By the end of 1966, journalist and song-writer Fernando César showed his favourite 10 songs for that awesome year: 'Dia das rosas' written by Luiz Bonfá & his wife Maria Helena Toledo and 'Canção sem título' written & sung by Maysa were both included. New face Chico Buarque de Hollanda appeared with 3 titles: 'Pedro pedreiro', 'Olé, olá' and 'A banda' which won TV Record's Festival 1966; Elis Regina, who was the greatest female singer by 1966 also had 2 titles: 'Lunik 9' written by Gilberto Gil and 'Upa neguinho' by Edu Lobo.
