CONTEMPORÂNEA, roda-de-choro circa 2012-2014

Carlus Maximus attends a Contemporanea roda-de-choro on 29 April 2012.
singer Maria Luiza & journalist Thais Matarazzo at Lojas Contemporânea on 31st March 2012.

Contemporanea, a musical instrument shop located at Rua General Osorio, 46 used to open its backroom auditorium to a jam-session of choro players & singers every Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In 2016, due to the Brazilian economy melt-down Contemporanea had to shut half of its space and that particular room where 'roda-de-choro' was played on Saturdays has been reclaimed by the instruments-for-sale.

Now, Contemporanea has changed its name to RS Musical and opened a smaller room on the 1st floor of a building next to its main entrance so that 'roda-de-choro' (choro jam session) might continue its existence minus the singers who were invited to keep their mouths shut. If you like instrumental choro... that's the place to be every Saturday morning...
